An Exciting New Way to Enjoy Tennis at Wembley
A ladder is a terrific way to meet new players, as well as get in some organized match play in a social setting. Many find the ladder format much less tense and stressful than the USTA league format. It's simply you and another player, a fun format, and often drinks and food after the match. You and your opponent agree upon a mutual time for your match, so there are no forced or inconvenient schedules. The ladder will be open to all levels of players, from very beginners to the best at the Club. The nature of a ladder is that players settle into a comfortable, natural level of play that is independent of formal USTA rankings. Every few weeks players will move up or down the ladder according to their results against the other players at their level. And as the ladder grows, so will the variety of players and formats the ladder can throw at you. The ladder will begin in December, so sign up below or speak with Radu right away if you're interested in the next big thing in Wembley tennis.

The Challenge

  • Each week you will be scheduled to play a match against one of the other ladder participants, until you have played all players in your division.
  • Matches may be played on scheduled Ladder Nights, or at any mutually agreed upon time during the week in which a match is scheduled.
  • Each match consists of a fun and unique 20-game set. Twenty games are played, alternating serves as usual. The player who wins the most games wins. In the event of a 10-10 tie, a traditional 7-point tiebreak is played.
  • At the conclusion of a ladder session, the player in your division who won the most games is the winner of the ladder.
